This is a tutorial about how to hide the seams on a puppet. I’ve made a video using polyester fabric and I’ve done some illustration on how to do it with antron fleece. Antron Fleece is 100% cotton fleece that stretchy and holds pigments very well so it’s great for making puppets. Antron fleece is mostly what Jim Henson used. It was difficult to illustrate how to hide a seam when making puppets because the drawing simple ends up looking like one piece of fabric. You can also use the same puppet sewing technical on polyester fleece but I don’t find it necessary to spend all the effort hiding your puppet seams with polyester because it’s very easy to just get some hair spray and push the fabric around to hide the seams.

Use the same thread color as your fabric. Sew the thread under the folded fabric to hide the stitch.

In the illustration I’m showing you how to hide a puppet seam with antron fleece. It’s green fabric like Kermit the Frog so I’m using green thread. You can sew it either way. My illustration just shows a loop. Personally, when sewing a puppet I like to do a base ball stitch. A baseball stitch is like threading your show laces. Hopefully between the video and the illustration I’ve made it clear on how to hide your stitch. This video animation was designed for a landing page. It’s primary focus was to explain how the software worked without

getting overly technical. They want to show the concept of the software. The animation is simple and light. The story line was written by Scott Marino (That’s ME) and I also animated and narrated it. I then built a simple landing page for the video animation to help gather leads. The theory is, after someone watches the video they are ready to sign up to learn more and a representative in their market place will contact them. The video animation page is advertised on Facebook and Google. It has a high conversion rate because I layed out the page in a format that primarily leaves the viewer one option, watch video & fill out form.

The SEO Butler Hand Puppet Mascot

This  was a puppet project created for seobutler.com. The primary focus was to have a  fun, animated puppet video to announce their service. They will be using it to break the ice with new clients. The puppet will also be used as a mascot to explain different services in the future along with a corporate identity. With the SEO Butler puppet they will be able to narrate over top of a screen capture to help explain specific website features. The SEO Butler is in this puppet video with Mr.  Billy Business.
